Fire twisted the little spikes on either side of her bottom lip. Her nails where half an inch long, black and pierced with a small ring and a chain. The metal spikes had been pushed through her skin 6 months ago exactly and she loved them. They matched her personality and in her opinion, made her look quite good. She twisted the pink streaks in her hair with her other hand. She spun them round and pushed them together. She hated maths lessons. Mr.Trogen was rambling on again about problems and pie and other kinds of crap she just didn't care about. The idea of pie disgusted her and as he said the word she felt her stomach growl in hunger. She took her hand from her hair and clamped it over her stomach in an attempt to shut it up. She glanced over to the clock. Five minutes and she could indulge in some chewing gum to give her mouth the effect of eating without the calories. Trogen said pie again. "Shut up." She hissed to herself. If anybody heard her stomach they'd make her eat, she wasn't about to let that happen. Luckily, occupied on her newest tongue piercing, time passed quickly. The bell went. She brushed the deep purple dreads from her face, shoved her books in her bag and raced out of the room, in a hurry to find her gum.
Gemma was waiting for her outside. She noticed Fire's hand over her stomach. "Eat." She snapped. Fire took her hand from around her and began rooting through her little purple bag. She found it. She flicked a piece of extra mint gum between her teeth and satisfied her stomach temperarily. Gemma growled. "You can't not eat like this, it's not good for you. If you don't stop soon, then I'll stop you!" Fire shook her head and continued away at her gum. She carried on playing with her lip piercings as before. Just then she noticed that Corey had walked around the corner. She took her hand from her lip and repositioned it on her hip. She chewed her gum with great emphasis and put one foot against the wall. She made eye contact with him and watched him walk. He was one of the most gorgeous guy's she knew and so perfect for her. He was the only guy around who understood who she was and didn't tease her because she was being individual. She was hardly normal. He came over to her and she felt her heartbeat get faster. She noticed she was staring at him and instantly looked away, dropping her bag, scattering her books across the ground. He laughed and picked them up for her, her cheeks now as red as her name. "Crap." She whispered. He handed them to her. "Thanks Corey. So what brings you up here?" He smiled at her then looked at the ground.
"Well I was kind of hoping you'd give me a hand. I want to make over my image. I'm sick of being this person, I want o be my own thing. Maybe you'd be able to help me?" his eyes where focused on his trainers.
"Oh I'd love to Corey!" She beamed at him and he looked up and smiled too. "I've been waiting for a project like this for ages!"
"Thanks fire!" She clicked her ongue bar between her teeth. "That's new isn't it?" He winked.
"Last weekend." She stuck her tongue out.
"It's nice." He beamed and began walking away. "Bye!" Fire relaxed and breathed. Gemma began singing love is in the air. Fire kicked her.
Fire lay in bed. She was so excited about helping Corey. Just then her phone rang. She looked at the screen, she didn't reconise the number. "Hello?"
"Hey Fire, it's Corey!" She felt herself squeek slightly. It was Corey! Yum! "You alright?"
"Yeah I am now! What makes you call me?" She twiddled with her little pink dreads again.
"This weekend can we start sorting me out?" He sat and waited in hope.
"Of Course! We have next week off school aswell if you want me to help you then aswel!"
"Oh Yeah, definately. You're the best, Fire." She felt her stomach expolde with happiness. He was soooooo sweet.
"See you tomorrow. Meet you in town at 10, yeah?" She thought that sounded reasonable.
"Definately. I can't wait. See you soon Fire!" He cut off the phone. She exhailed and flopped onto the bed. Wow.
Fire sat on the bench in the square next to the bus station and waited. She checked the time on her phone, 10:05. Was he coming? Had he forgotten? He was late. Questions and worry flowed through her head, unable to stop thinking about what would happen if he didn't turn up? She felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see Corey's gorgeous smile. She relaxed. "Hi." He stuck his tongue out. She waved, stood up and hugged him.
"I was worried you wern't going to turn up!" She smiled at him too. "But here you are!" That was rubbish. Haha, she could have said something much better than that, but oh well. "Right. Onwards to shops!" She began walking and he followed. First stop was superdrug. Fire scanned the isles, walking down the third one and stopping infront of the Maybelene display.
"Oh God. You're not going to turn me into a girl are you?" He sighed as he noticed the rows of lipstick and eyeshadow.
"Hell No." She laughed and searched through them, stopping over the black eyeliner, she picked up a stick, drew a line on his hand and put the lip back on and handed it to him. She then moved onto the eyeshadow, picked out a black, dark grey and a white. He frowned.
"PLEASE tell me this is for you." He winced at the thought.
"No, this is yours Corey." He sighed and gave her a sympathetic look. "Trust me on this." She began to walk towards a different isle. She stopped around the hair dye.
"This is what I'm talking about!" He beamed and began looking through the different colours. Fire took a jet black dye, two boxes of flourescent pink, two of purple, two of red, two of orange and one of green and two blue. "I don't think I need that many colours, and thats ALOT of dye!"
"Some of it's for me! Trust me, you do need all of these colours!" She beamed and he nodded, defeated.
The two payed and began walking down the street. A guy with straightened hair and lip piercings walked by. Fire watched him, he was beautiful. She found piercings on guys so sexy. "You think he's hot, don't you?" Corey sounded almost insulted. Fire nodded. "It's the piercings." Corey went a bit quiet. "Thinking of, we're off to get your ear stretched, if you're comitted enough?" She winked.
"Go for it!.....Will it hurt?" He hesitated. he didn't like pain.
"Not really. it will a little bit." She smiled. "but I'll hold your hand." She smiled and they headed towards Fire's favourite piercers. They walked through the door and where instantly greeted by Max, a big butch guy covered in metal and tattoo's.
"Fire!" He hugged her. "Nice to see you again, may I add more metal to your body?" He bowed to her.
"Of course Max, whatever you want, I also want you to instant stretch Corey here's left lobe to a 6 please." Corey had no idea what this ment, but it sounded scary and painful. "Corey, to prove it wont hurt I'll get something done first." She smiled and tilted her head slightly. "Max?"
"Yes, Fire. I'v just had some new surface bar's delivered, fancy a hip piercing?" He held up the new bars.
"Ouch." Corey predicted under his breath.
"Definately." She smiled and lay on the table and lifted her shirt, and pulled her trousers down a little. While Max fiddled around with bars and sterelised neeldes, she took the sterelisation wipes from the side and prepared hips for the piercing. She knew exactly what to do. She then lay back and took a deep breath.
"You watching my face Corey?" He nodded and she smiled. Max came over to her and pushed the needle through her skin with little effort. Corey winced, but noticed Fire didn't even flinch. Max put the first bar through and tightened it.
"Nice placement Fire." max commented on the little purple dots she had drawn on her own hips for the piercings. He got the next needle for the other side and repeated. She kept her expression exactly the same. "Done." Fire sat up and walked over to Corey.
"Wow." His eyes where wide. "I can handle a simple ear piercing I think." He sat on the table and Fire sterelised his ear and marked it out. She took the piercing gun and shot the stud through his ear. "Don't you need some kind of degree or something to do that!" Corey was amazed that she'd done it. She wasn't a pierced.
"No. I do it all the time for Max. He'll do the instant stretching though, I can't do that yet. I'll go and pick out the jewellry for it now. Be back in a moment." She walked through to the shop and looked at the plugs.
"She's a fine young girl, Corey." Max commented, begining to scrape away at the insides of his new hole. "You're lucky."
"Oh she's not my girlfriend." He corrected Max. "Just my mate."
"She thinks the world of you Corey, she talks about you alot. She think's your amazing, she also said she'd like to see your lip pierced. Think's you'd look sexy. Haha."
"I didn't know she thoght like that about me......" Corey's thoughts where shattered. He wasn't sure what to think.
"Oh Yeah, difnately. That's why I thought you two where together." Max finished the scraping and called Fire. She reappeared holding a little packet with a black thing in it. Max put it through Corey's ear and told him he was done. Corey looked in the mirror and nodded.
"Thanks." He smiled. "It's great!" He stood up and they began to leave.
"Corey!" Max shouted. "Don't hurt the girl." Corey looked back at him and nodded, then ran out the door to catch up with Fire.
The next stop was Fire's house. They trotted up the stairs and into the bathroom. Corey sat on the edge of the bath and waited to see what was going on. Fire reappeared with a pair of scissors, a comb, a brush and a few towells. "You trust me?" She whispered. He nodded. He was still thinking about what Max had told him. She took the shower head and began washing Corey's hair over the sink. Her hands where warm and she was gentle at washing his hair and very careful to avoid his new piercing. His hair was about shoulder length and messy, not cut in any particular style. She finished washing and sat him up in a comfortable position and towelled his hair dry. She brushed and combed it through. Next she began to cut. "Are you sure you know what you're doing?" He was concerned now. She nodded and continued cutting. It looked good. She cut him a fringe across his face and layres. He was worried. After another 10 minutes or so of cutting and she had finished. "Can I see?" He smiled.
"Nope." She shook her head and smiled at him. "Not done yet." Next she took out the dye from the bag.
Fire had finished dying Corey's hair and was waiting for the dye to take so she did her own. He was fascinated at her skills, watching intently, his stomach growled. "Oh God, I'm sorry I forgot about food." She apologised like made and finished redying her last dread and ran downstairs. She reappeared a few minutes later with a plate of sandwiches for him.
"What about you?" He began munching away happily.
"Oh I don't eat. I'm sortof anorexic." She looked to the ground. Not something she was proud of. He stopped eaing and stood up. He walked to her and stood about 20cm away from her and put his hands on either side of her waist. He ran his hands up to her ribs and felt them. He gasped slightly. He moved down to her hips, avoiding her piercings.
"Oh Gosh. Eerm, can I look under your shirt please?" He asked shyly. She nodded and he lifted her shirt up to look at her ribs. "Oh, Fire this isn't healthy." He shook his head. She nodded.
"I know, but I can't stop Corey. I'm stuck in this." She felt a tear down her face. He hugged her tight. She buried her face into his shoulder, cosy.
"Don't worry, Fire. I wont tell anybody." He comforted her, his arms still around her. It was nice. He started to think about what Max had said again. All too soon she pulled out of the hug.
"I've got to take the dye out of your hair now." She sniffed, wiping her eyes again. She put his head over the sink and began rinsing. It would look amazing. After all of the dye was sucsessfully gone, she plugged in the hairdryer and started drying. Midway through that, she left to rinse out her own dreads. This gave Corey a minute on his own to think, but too soon she was back drying. She clicked on the straighteners and began drying her own hair because his was done. The straighteners bleeped just as she had finished her own hair. Her's didn't need straightening of course, but his did. "You're being quiet." She comented as she ran the plates through his newly coloured hair. He nodded.
"Just something Max was talking about got to me." He whispered.
"What was it?" She was concerned now. She hated it when he was worried.
"Nothing particular." He didn't want to embarress her. "Don't worry." She smiled and clicked off the straighteners. "Can I look now?" he was getting impatient, he hadn't seen himself sinse he got his ear done and he must look totally different now!
"Nope." She then bent infront of his face. She took the eyeliner from her bag and began drawing around his eyes. He looked deep into hers. He saw something he'd never seen before, he saw the hot side of her. The datable side, the side he really really liked. The side he had fallen in love with. He liked her in just the way she liked him, he just never realised. He had to do something about this. She finished doing his eye makeup and she stood up. He followed her and she took him to a mirror. He gasped. It wasn't the same person. It couldn't be. He looked in the mirror and saw a hot guy that maybe Fire could fall in love with. Somebody perfect for her, they'd fit perfectly now. His hair looked amazing, with every colour her's had and maybe more.
